Job Title: Selenium Test Automation Engineer

Location On-site: Gunter AFB, AL (Hybrid, Remote)

Employment Type: Full Time

Targeted Start Date: 01 SEP 2025

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a dedicated Selenium Test Automation Engineer to develop and implement an automated testing framework for our Java and ColdFusion-based applications. This role will focus on creating comprehensive regression test scripts using Selenium to reduce manual testing efforts and improve quality assurance coverage within our development pipeline. The primary goal of this position is to build an end-to-end automated testing solution that can simulate user interactions with our applications, verify functionality across features, and provide consistent quality checks before releases. This position will play a critical role in enhancing our quality assurance process and enabling more efficient deployment cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive Selenium-based test automation framework from the ground up
• Create and maintain automated test scripts that cover the full functionality of our application, starting from login flows through complex business operations
• Integrate automated testing into our CI/CD pipeline for continuous regression testing
• Identify opportunities to optimize test coverage and execution efficiency
• Document test cases, procedures, and automation frameworks
• Collaborate with development and functional testing teams to understand application workflows and requirements
• Maintain and update test scripts as application features evolve
• Analyze test results and report defects with clear reproduction steps
• Research and recommend improvements to our test automation approach
• Develop and execute unit tests using JUnit for Java components and CFUnit for ColdFusion components
• Design and implement performance and load testing using JMeter
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the Agile software development cycle to support system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployments.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation
• Ensure all testing activities adhere to Air Force cybersecurity/engineering policies, privacy regulations, and information assurance requirements

You Must Have:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in a field complimentary to the duties to be performed
• 3+ years of experience in software test automation
• Strong proficiency with Selenium WebDriver and automation frameworks
• Experience with Java and/or ColdFusion programming and their testing frameworks (JUnit, CFUnit, etc.)
• Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience with version control systems (Git preferred)
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools (Jenkins, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent documentation abilities

Nice To Have:

• Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber
• Experience with API testing
• Database testing experience
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies and collaborative support practices.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or relevant testing certifications
