\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Mexico or compact state; pending license accepted)\n
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience\n
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS\n
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)\n
• No local candidates within 75 miles\n
• Ability to float to other ICUs, PCU, ED, and PACU as needed\n
• Experience with trauma level II required; trauma level I preferred\n
• Clinical skills: ICP monitoring, ventilator management, central line management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD management, ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation, lumbar drains, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, neuro nursing skills\n

\n\nICU RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological diagnoses (TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disorders)\n
• Perform and manage advanced procedures: EVD insertions, A-line insertions, intubation, central line insertion, CRRT, post-TPA and post-thrombectomy care\n
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)\n
• Provide post-operative neuro care and monitor intracranial pressure\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services)\n
• Float to other critical care units and step-down units as needed\n
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR\n
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training modules\n
