Here's the final round. This decides which film will win the dreaded Escape Pod Worst Film Award.

Had to go with Highlander II. I went in with such high hopes only to have them destroyed by that pile. I remember going to B & R with some of my in-laws and thinking "WTF did I marry in to?" after they all talked about how good the movie was.

I think that was the point for me. I knew B&R would suck and it was so bad I never did watch all of it. I wanted Highlander II to be great and for the first half hour I was really trying to like it, but I couldn't. B&R is totally forgotten. Who cares? But Highlander II makes me sad everytime I think about the original.

This is very, very hard. And made harder by the fact that I'm mostly going by the films reputations and previews. I've only actually seen one of the movies in question.

Which I suppose means I win.

The League of Extraordinary Gentleman was a big let-down for me. The premise sounded so great. I should have spotted trouble when I saw Tom Sawyer. That "One of These Things is Not Like the Others" song from pre-school started rolling through my head. It would be like giving Frodo or Harry Potter a jive talking comedic side-kick, a la Donkey from the Schreck films.

I give it to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen if for no other reason than that the filmmakers, with no better idea of what to do with him, turned Captain Nemo into some kind of weird ninja. The graphic novel was great. The movie -- ick.

Batman and Robin.

For one simple reason; regardless of the changes made to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, regardless of the budget cuts that meant something really exciting and expensive happens OFF camera in Star Trek V, regardless even of the fact that Highlander II systematically manages to destroy one of the most unusual and effective fantasy movies of the last thirty years...

Every single one of these movies had moments, scenes or performances (And if we must have examples then Connery and Stuart Townsend in LXG, The 'I NEED my pain' speech in Star Trek V and John C.Mcginley in Highlander II) that were entertaining, or funny or worked on some basic level.

Batman and Robin had Arnold Schwarzenegger. Painted blue.

It's really hard to pick between Highlander II and Batman & Robin.

The other movies, bad as they were, just don't measure up in terms of sheer awfulness, all other things being equal.

Highlander II was something that just made no sense from start to finish. I can't imagine someone reading that script and greenlighting it.

It was full of scenes that were gratuitous, unnecessary, pointless, and embarrassing. Just really, genuinely, one of the worst films I have ever seen. If there were a button that could expunge that film from existence, you'd have to finally drag me away from it, I'd be pressing it over and over again with such alacrity.

This is a very tough call. Even though it's a crap movie, I can't vote for Star Trek because it had some things going for it. I think I'm going to go with Pluto Nash, because that was just crap filmmaking all around. Whoever thought that would be a good idea deserves to have their eyeballs stapled open and watch Daddy Day Camp on a continous loop.

I hate to be a stickler, but I'm pretty sure that was Batman Forever. (Sorry, I can't resist either.) As bad as Joel Schumacher was to that franchise, I think Chris O' Donnell needs to share some of the blame.

I still don't understand how someone could have seen Batman Forever (as I did) and yet gone on to actually watch Batman & Robin. What? Did you think it was going to be *better*? Can't you take a hint and walk away?
