I did this at work today... for the next four days, we'll be letting people vote on their favorite fictional president, and then 8/28 - 9/2 they vote for one of the four "primary" winners.

I had to dumb it down a bit for our audience -- very few people from books on the list -- but you might still get a kick out of it.

Ok, it may be dumbed down to just TV and movies, but considering this audience of Sci-fi geeks how could you not have...

Laura Roslin (Battlestar Galactica)

But I'm sure you'll get a lot of "why didn't you have so-and-so" responses...

I had Hayes and Roslin on there in the beginning of each day they would've been on (Hayes on Friday, Roslin on Monday), but after a little thought I realized they wouldn't resonate with our audience.

There are a couple of sci-fi ones coming up... Nixon (Futurama) and Winston Noble (F451) for starters...

There's four days of voting, too... today, tomorrow, monday, and tuesday.

If I were a betting man, which I'm not because I'd suck at it, my money would be on Bartlet. That being said, the presence of David Palmer on there (To say nothing of the fact that he clearly manipulated the events of 24 season 5 so he could return to his previous job as Sergeant Major Jonas Blane of the 303rd Logistical Studies Group) may make it a close race.

I think I had to take Lindberg out due to not enough people knowing about him. Widmore (ID4) is in there on Tuesday, but he's up against Arnold Schwarzenegger (Simpsons Movie) and E.G. Marshall (Superman II), so if everyone here votes for those guys, Widmore should be defeated.

Morgan Freeman it is for me, although with him I guess it is charisma more than anything that was the deciding factor.

I know, I know, and people like me have the right to vote, disgusting, ha? (not in the US though, ... I mean I can't vote in the US, not that it isn't disgusting in an American context)

Almost a non-entity; hardly even five total minutes of screen time in the entire movie. Before now, I didn't even know his name (and that's my favorite movie and I've seen it about a dozen times.)

I don't know why I should be surprised, but I thought Kline would give Ford a bit more of a challenge than he is.

nitpick: the fifth element had a federation president not a us president. independence day would have been a better choice.
