Just watched Mama this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Not a perfect movie, but a fun, solid ghost story with some gorgeous effects.

Anyone seen it and want to movie talk? :)

Yep:) Dug it, because of the simple but effective mcguffin and the wilful WTFery of the ending. Also, the investigative element of the movie was really fun.

Was in theaters for a bit, but didn't make much of a noise there. It's available for rental now. If you have a spare hour and a half, I think it's for sure worth the watch. The story line isn't anything new, but it's pretty well told, and it has a surprisingly sweet feel to it.

I mainly wanted to bring it up because I have watched so many awful, awful horror movies lately, and I got to this one, and I was actually happy that I watched it. It was refreshing!

added to my netflix queue.
"similar titles":Gremlins, Zero Dark thirty (about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden), and My name is Modesty (Raised by a casino owner after being abandoned by her parents, Modesty Blaise becomes skilled in the ways of fighting and now acts as her surrogate father's bodyguard. But when she's unable to prevent his murder, she's hell-bent on seeking revenge.)   How the bloody hell are any of those titles similar?

Okay...Gremlins and Mama have a very loosely similar sense of the twisted, Jessica Chastain is the lead in both movies and.........she and Modesty Blaise both.......have.......a......pulse?

Just watched Mama.  An enjoyable movie.  Probably wasn't best time to watch it, as my Dad just passed on Wed morning, but...

I really liked the ending.  Visuals were cool, reminded me of some of the Japanese horror movies like Ringu/The Ring, with some of the movement effects, but was also very much its own movie.
